Randell McShepard was elected vice president of public affairs in October 2007 and named chief talent officer in July 2018. As chief talent officer, he is primarily responsible for managing and evaluating leadership development, succession planning and executive training across RPM in collaboration with Chairman and CEO Frank C. Sullivan. This includes leading the Global Organizational Leadership Development (GOLD) team, which facilitates RPM’s diverse senior leadership development programs. In his role as vice president of public affairs, Randell coordinates external affairs for the company, including corporate philanthropy and government relations.
Randell began his career at RPM in 2001, when he joined the company as director of community affairs. His previous work included serving as executive director of City Year Cleveland and assistant director of administration and program development for the Cleveland Bicentennial Commission.
Active in the Cleveland community, Randell serves as a trustee for The Cleveland Foundation, Destination Cleveland and as a director for Citymark Capital LLC. In addition, he is chairman and co-founder of PolicyBridge, a public policy think tank serving the Northeast Ohio region. Randell holds dual bachelor’s degrees from Baldwin Wallace University and a master’s degree in urban studies from Cleveland State University. He and his family reside in Beachwood, Ohio.
