While we officially introduced our Building a Better World sustainability program in 2022, RPM has been Building a Better World throughout our more than 70-year history. Today, our sustainability program is structured on the foundation of our three pillars: Our Products, Our People and Our Processes.  

Our Products and services protect assets and extend their lives, which is inherently sustainable. We enable building owners to make existing and new structures more efficient and durable, which reduces waste. Through our cross-functional Product Stewardship initiative, we are also enhancing formulations for the benefit of our customers and associates. 

Our commitment to Our People has been a legacy of RPM and continues to grow in areas such as training & development, safety and diversity & inclusion. In alignment with our MS-168 Program, Our Processes have become significantly more efficient, resulting in reduced greenhouse gas emissions and natural resource consumption and lower costs.  

Underlying our entire business, including RPM’s sustainability program, is our commitment to Our Governance and doing the right things, the right way, for the right reasons. The company was founded on our core values of Transparency, Trust and Respect, and those values guide how we operate on a daily basis.

Our philosophy is to set goals, which are ambitious, but attainable over a 3-to-5-year timeline, so the same people setting the goals are the ones implementing actions to achieve them.
